It was all to begin as one world, though that one world could not survive connected. The split was forced apon the world subtly, and slowly. The once harmonius realm was devided in two - one filled with magic, one with technology. .
As time progressed slowly along its tedius and perpetual line, each world nearly forgot that the other existed. Only in tales and myths did they exist for each other. Even so, some, perhaps not so fortunate, knew fully of the other realm's existance. These people were know as Draemers (say; dray - mers), often mistaken by as Dreamers (say; dree - mers). These people share this secret with few beings.
Each world drags on, obliviouse to the other. Each is filled with problems of its own, and each is forced to solve them. This is a story about the land often known as the land of Draem - or in the realm filled with technology, 'dream'.
When Liav created the world, he had not anticipated anything that was to come in the future. He had created it from the depths of his mind, heart and soul, and it was beautiful. The land was covered in brilliant green valleys, breathtaking deserts, thick green forests, magestic mountains and deep pools of water. There wasn't a detail of it that was ugly, or incomplete.
And the creatures of this land - Earth as he called it - they were all as wonderful as the rest of his creation. Grazing in the deep valleys could be seen horses and unicorns. In the desserts could be found lizards and gryphons. The mountains held dragons and goats. The water housed whales and merfolk.
But, Liav's most complicated being was the Human. The human was given something that many of the animals had little of - emotion. Humans were able to love and hurt, were able to feel depression and anger and joy - all to a major extreem. Liav took pride over his Human creations, so much that he granted them rulership over his planet of Earth. He handed to them the responsability to look after his creation.
Liav didn't know that his most prized creations would be the downfall of Earth.
As Earth progressed through time, the humans took up more and more controll of the world. It seems that the emotion 'greed' was one of the stronger ones that wallowed in the human soul. Humans began slowly to forget the magic that had been granted to them at the beginning of their creation. Those who didn't were chased out or burned. It was so that the humans who chose to keep their magic, learned to avoid civilization. They begame outcasts. They became refugees.
Amung these outcasts was a pretty young elf who went by the name of Xirva. She dispised what the humans were doing to the beautiful lands of Liav, and wanted to see something change. She was filled with rage, and the will to please her gods.
She stayed at a refugee camp in the forest, along with many other magic bearing creatures.
It would soon become apparant that drastic action needed to be taken.
When technology first showed its face on Earth, the beings who held magic soon learned its full potential. If any of them dared aproatch anything working on electricity, if any dared to give their life into the workings of technology, then any magic they possessed would soon drain out of them. It was Xirva and a few others who set up the project known as Draem, or 'dividing realms and economizing magic'. It took many years, but soon a new realm was set up, in which magic could thrive. They knew this was their only chance - as should they remain in the Earth Realm, magic eventually would not exist.
and so a new beginning was formed.
The portal between realms was left gaurded, and more than not, sealed. No one was to enter or exit from either of the realms to the other. The keepers of the portal were either containing magic, or in knowledge of it. They formed their own town, gaurding the portal, and have existed in the realm of Technology ever since in the town of Gypsy. It was just as the Draemers predicted. The realm of Earth continued to grow on technology, untill Draem only existed in tales, or when you fell asleep. in your Dreams.
it was so that the Realm of Draem continued to grow, and magic continued to live.
