in Liav, as any human-type creature (eg. humans, elves, faeries), you are most likely going to want to have an occupation of some sort. here are some examples of occupations that you may have. if you have an occupation that is not up there, feel free to message me and I'll post it up.
wanderer (drifter)
folk who don't seem to have a place in the world. They wander, or drift, from town to town, through forests and over meadows. They never settle down anywhere, and for money, they usually do odd jobs to earn what they can.
bard
bards are mysterious beings. they are often secluded and peaceful. the more skillful bards posses the necessary powers of barding. you do not gain these powers, but are born with them in your hands. not all bards have powers, however. these bards wander from city to city, making money by singing. their songs most often tell stories.
thief (bandit)
obviously, someone who steals as a way of obtaining currency/food/objects. not all thieves steal for selfish reasons, and as an example of a good thief, think in the direction of robin hood. we all know that certain hero.
blacksmith
should the position be open in a town, the blacksmith is a respectable and well paying job. blacksmiths often make horse shoes, door hinges and other such things made from metal. In most towns, you can find a blacksmith shop.
tailor
tailors either have a stationary business in a shop in a town, or have a cart with all their necessities and travel. what do tailors do? they mend things...or 'tailor' things. mainly fabrics, and then mainly clothing.
farmer
Liav is abundant in farmers. farmers are quite important, and most common folk are farmers of sorts. farmers, as we all know, specialize in the food category. they grow crops, raise livestock, etc. farmers often sell their goods in markets, or trade from their houses with neighbors and such.
Inn Keeper (or Inn staff)
inns are quite popular in Liav. travelers are the main people who require these facilities. The Inn keeper is the owner of the Inn, and the Inn staff work for him/her. These people make their money by renting off rooms, and preparing meals for the guests.
stable master (or stable staff)
stables are also important in Liav. again, travelers find them useful for keeping their mounts, and also stables can be found at the castles where royal horses are housed. the stable master is the owner of the stables (or lead staff member) and other staff members muck stalls, feed/groom horses, etc.
messenger
a messenger, also known as a courier, is a being who delivers messages in the written hand, or simply as they are dictated. Messengers are often hired by a castle, or by a noble family to carry personal messages or letters. But, more than not, messengers travel the lands, moving from town to town delivering messages. some messengers travel by foot, though are not used for messages that need to be delivered quickly. more commonly, messengers travel on horse back, and less commonly other forms of transportation.

rankings/ status
Rankings are commonly used in the realm of Draem. Obviousley, queens and kings are the highest, moving down the latter to peasants then slaves. Rankings matter to some, and to others mean nothing. Even so, all humanoid beings hold a ranking, even if its not intentional.
Queen of Draem
the queen of Draem is, at the moment, Thayet. The Queendome is located in Kaytale, where she rules all of the realm. It has been tradition that the Queen is the highest ranking, rather than the king, when it comes to ruling all of Draem, from Kaytale.
King of Draem
though there is currently no king of Draem, there has been in the past. The king of Draem can only obtain the position by marrying the Queen, as the law states.
the Princess of Draem
there is currently none, but the princess of Draem is the heir to the throne. She is highly respected, and is a very important figure to the crown.
-----------
king or queen
a king or queen of a country outside of Kaytale is considered the next on the stepping ladder. No one can contradict what they say, other than the ruler stationed at Kaytale. The king is generally a slightly higher rank than the queen, as outside of Kaytale, it is a boy that is to be in line for the throne.
prince or princess
considered as much royalty as a king or queen, the prince is in line for the throne, and the princess is usually married off to rule at some other kingdom.
---------
Noble
a noble family is often stationed in large manors around the country side. Nobels often controll large sections of land, where they generally place farms. On the farms, peasants work, under the hands of the nobels. Most of the food that the peasants farm goes to the nobels, and a good portion of that goes to the kingdom of the country they reside in.

upper class people are those who live in large houses, and have a decent sum of money. These people aren't nobels, or royalty, but they are quite well off. These people are often merchants, or the owners of large buisnesses.
middle-class
middle class people often live in small villiages in decent, two story houses. The houses aren't large, but are in wonderful condition, and are generally in lovley neighbourhoods. These people have a well -off some of money, and usually have a good paying job somewhere in town, and sometimes run a well off farm.
lower-class
these are the people you see living in small, run down houses, or on farms in the country. Often, these people are very low on money, and sometimes in the streets. These are the people who either can't get jobs, or have jobs that pay little.
------
Peasants
peasants are often seen working on farms that are more than not owned by Nobels. Sometimes a family of Peasants will own a small farm. These people are poor. Often, a peasant will get a job at a castle, where they are housed and do chores to earn their keep.
----
Slaves
slaves are treated below humans. They are sold and bought at markets, and though the current ruler of Draem is trying to stop it, it still goes on in secret markets. Slaves are forced to work, and are not payed to do so. They live in poor conditions, and are fed very little. Sometimes, however, there are people who are kinder to their slaves. These people will feed and clothe them properly, and give them more decent quarters.
