The pure ebon figure wound his way carefully on the edge of the meadow. He had no wish to lose himself to the memories that inhabited the fridged air.
Wearly he stopped at the edge of the groove, wondering if these plagueing memories would infest an animal as they would a human. As it was, he had no strength to try a transformation in this state. So for now, he would wander a bit more until he reached some out lying village that was out of the way of gossip and nobility.
Anil didn't like dealing with humans anyway. And while he was half human, the horse part of him was wild, and far stronger. At least as a horse he could see completely.
The silver band around his black brow gleamed softly with runes as his hooves struck the earth in rythm. He slowed as he felt a ripple brush through the earth and shifted nervously. The fleeting instants born and bred within him were daring him to take flight across these vast open planes.
In a few hours it would be a night, a time he could cast off his disability and walk like any normal creature would under the light of day. He said nothing, did nothing as he wove his way through the trees on the edge of the meadow, still wondering if he dared to make a fool hardy dash across an open graveyard.

The maiden dressed in black softly stepped through the trees and into the feild, her bow was strung across her back, and her sword at her side. She ahd ehr blonde hair tied back so that it wouldn't flutter and possibly give her away if she need to hide. She didn't want to walk across the lands, for the memories that would be trudged up would certainly reduce ehr to tears.
She put one foot in front of the other, her keen elf eyes scanning for predators and friends alike on the vast horizon. She curved about her face as she let ehrself dwadle for a moment in the beauty of the place, but only for a breif moment, as quick as the smile had come, it was gone. She had felt a memorie tuging at the back of her mind, something long and forgoen and she thought she ahd burried it. Obviously not. She fought the memorie as it threatened to overwhelm her. She felt like sitting in the grass and sobbing like a bairn. She saw the images of her villages' destruction, ehr mother and her father's deaths and then the abduction of her sister.
All of that is part of the reason she ahd become a loner. She was never close to anyone but the people who lived in ehr house, and of all of them her siser and her mom were closest to ehr. They both tuaght her to use a bow, and use a knife, she had learned to cook, and clean, but also to hunt and deend herself. Over the years she ahd become deadly with a sword and even more os with a bow.
She sat in the grass her head in her hands as the memories of finding ehr sister's beaten, brusied and blodied body, lifeless on the ground. Sobbs racked ehr body and at that moment she wanted her mom to hold her, her sister to comfort her and her father's stern, yet kind words. She felt foolish crying in the open, not even when she ahd burried ehr family had she cried openly.
Eventually she cried herself to sleep beneath a huge tree, and dozed for about thirty minnuets. She jerked awake all of a sudden, something had awaken ehr, even asleep ehr keen hearnig was working. She quickly rubbed the tears and sleep from ehr puffy eyes and scanned the area, It was foolidh to have cried and carryed on like that, predators and others who don't like elves were sure to be about. She stood up and moved into the tree. EHr bow and her knife were still with her which was good.
She was in the top of the tree, having a good look at the plains and over the hills in the meadow, and that when she saw the centuar. She had only glimpsed them before, Magnificent creatures. As a bairn she had been told many many stories about the majestic race of the centuar. The stories had often left her asking questions, like would she ever be able to meet one, or would she ever be able to ride on one. But she knew that last thing was not even remotely possible, for the centuars are proud, and to let someone ride on their backs was to humbling for them.
She lept from the tree and stood at it's base, the centuar not but a speck on the horrizon. She wanted to go meet him, but didn't want to feel the wrath and consiquenses if she happened to offend him.

His black frame was more like a shadow on the horizon. A spot that mearly blotched out sunlight. He heaved a steady sigh, feeling a few distant memories licking at his mind, he brushed them aside, glarinag at the earth.
It murmured, speaking to him as the wind rushed through the grass. Someone else had come to thise cursed plain, but why? He turned his body slowly, watching the skyline but he saw nothing. A few lone trees dared to brave the terrain, but forest would never take over so it was unlikly someone was hiding along the tree line.
Still, it didn't hurt to check. His left foreleg struck the ground a few times impatiently, like any horse might. The silver blade hanging at his side began to humm softly with his inner thoughts as he slowly raised his head, keeping an eye on the sun. Then he struck out slowly across towards the deeper forest beyond.

The maiden watched in slight shock as the Centuar made his way in ehr direction, and her first instinct was to flee. But no, she was of the proud elven race and she wouldn't run like a bairn. She leaned against the tree and sat down. She blocked the memories that tryed to flood ehr mind as she waited for him to arrive.
She jerked awake only once she had realized she ahd fallen into slumber again. Muttering cursings as she stood up and dusted off, maybe she ahd missed ehr chance? She hoped not. She picked some leaves out of her blonde hair and stood there looking around. The grass was so tall, she culd hardly see anything, much les the centuar.

The sun had set, and he ripped the blindfold from his eyes as the moon began to rise. The earth heaved a last sigh as his presence left the magic for the night.
His shaggy hooves plodded over the grass, then he began to lope loosely towards the rim of trees. A stirring figure caused him to start and the tempo beating over the grass faltered a moment before he drew up. His black eyes peered through the gloom, resting upon the elven figure and his eyes narrowed as he began to walk slowly forward.

She sat down again in the wanning light quite discouraged, but...wait...hold on.....She turned her head around as she caught the sounds of advancing hoof beats. She knew it was getting dark and she should probably unoll her pack and stuff, but what if it was the centuar she ahd seen?
She stifled a yawn as she stood under the tree and waited. She was a loner, but company was welcome, especially that of a centuar. She looked longingly at the rolled mat, and her cooking stuff. With a sigh she relented and unrolled her bag and stared a small fire in a cleared spot. She pulled out her pans and loaves and tossed a loaf of bredish looking stuff onto the fire, to bake.
She boiled some coffee and sat there holding the tart and coffe and waited.

He watched as a fire began to blaze, then felt the flames licking at the earth in his under consciousness.
"You're going to burn the whole plain down like that." he said stiffly as he walked into the dim circle of firelight. He glared at the wavering flames, and soon a dull gleam circled the wood, stopping the fire from spreading any more.
Anil looked at the elven figure in silence. A woman out on her own, now that was a sight to see in most cultures. Well those of mythic races may be indenpendant, the woman didn't often leave the company of the home, or companions.

"nin beth" she breathed as the dull circle engulfed ehr small camp fire. The fire had been very undercontrol. She turned and saw the figure standing there behind her. Had she really been that tired as to not notice his arrival? She was shocked, yes, more shocked than anything really. She set ehr cup and the tack down before she spilled it on ehrelf, and faced the Centuar once again.
She knew she was taking a risk going out by ehrslf, but not much was left for her back home, not much at all. She watched teh Centuar before stating ehr name "Geminia." she said her voice strong, yet soft ''That's my name." she let her vocals pass once again. She waited for what he would say.
(Not my best, but it's all i have rght now.)

He peered at her, the light from the risen moon casting a dull gleam over his pure black shadowy figure as he stood there. The earth seemed to murmur slightly, but he ignored it as he stared at the elf.
"Anil." he said finally, still staring at with a calulated gaze, as if unsure what to make of her. "I would think an elf would have better respect for the earth, even such cursed ground as this."

She nodded, feeling to ashamed for starting the cooking fire. He was right, she did have better respect for the earth, more than she ahd shown it, that was for sure. She was being selfish, again.... She reached for the bucket of water she had and poured some of the flames, with a little dirt it was effectivley doused.
"Please, won't you stay awhile and have something to eat Mr. Anil?" she asked, offering some of her food stuffs and a blanket to sit on,.

He paused, feeling the warmth of the sun leave his back and shifted. The night was a more peaceful time for him then the day. It was hard to believe in his younger years he'd been such a carefree child, but times did that to everyone.
"I really shouldn't" he began slowly. It wasn't that he had anything to do, he just wasn't in a people sort of mood right now.

She watched him closly for a moment as he spoke. she nodded her head "Alright, If you wish to move on, do you need something to take with you?" she asked, offering anything eh needed.
She felt a bit discouraged now that he said he wouldn't stay, but she wasn't going to make him say, it just wasn't in ehr nature.

"I have everything I could possibly need." he replied a bit curtly as he stared across the open meadow once again. It hadn't been as hard as he thought. Despite how strong the memories were he'd merely been forced to relive his own.
Of course, the torment had shaken him. It wasn't that often he saw the same thought process repeated over and over. But then again, it was also what tened to steel him against most emotions. He wasn't exactly the care free centaur he'd been in his teen years.

She felt as if someone had just slapped her when he spoke curtly. Frown etched into her pretty face as she watched him. "Very well." she said her voice and tounge controled. She watched as the centuar moved away, out towards the meadow and built ehr fire once more. She set herself busy piling the stones so the fire wouldn't burn the whole place down and them gathered her stuff and started the fire.
Night had closed in by now and she lay on ehr rool looking up at the stars and the tree tops, right ehre, she ahd blocked out the memories, ones she had long forgotte, and even not wanted to rember. She ahd banked the coals left on the fire so it would be easy to start in the morning and she had hauled a bucket of wter to dous the fire with in the morning.

The moonlight filtered through the blindfold and he slowly removed it, allowing hismelf the wonder of a night lit by a gleaming disk of silver.
The wavey black mane tumbled from his shoulders down to his back and he dug a hoof into h ground in wonder. His life was so sperate, he'd lost touch with himself. There was no longer a way to conduct conversation in such a world.
"Where am I to tred?" he whispered slowly as the dust rippled over his hooves. There was no silent rumble in answer tonight and he heaved another sigh. The earth had urdged him here, but why? He needed answers, he was desperate for them.
