Dagon listened nodding slowly as he did. "It sounds nice" was all he said. He didn't know what else to say.

She smiled awkwardly, the conversation was winding down to a nice awkward silence, and it was a bit unsettleing. "SO, um....If you could go one place in the ocean, where would that be?' she asked. Another icebreaker.

Dagon thought over the question carfully. "I don't know I have only stayed around here for most of my life I wouldn't know any where else" Dagon said truthfully. He liked having attention and he liked talking. But he could tell there where many more scilences to come.

drifting silently, not much unlike a piece of loose sea weed, Kaie headed at a slow pace toward the other two mer-folk. Her long black hair floated out behind her like a cloud of ink, her brilliant orange tail flickering beneath the eerie glow of the light from the above world. She was, as normal, daydreaming. She was just that type of being - seeming like she was just never completely there. Most of the time, part of her mind was far off, contemplating silently thoughts unknown to any but herself. She was like this partly because she held a great secret - one that she planned to let no one in on. No one could tell where her loyalties lay, or what she was hiding in that slim part-fish body of hers. The light coming from above was tempting, and Kaie soon found herself drawn to it. she floated steadily up, large coppery eyes filling with sunlight, pupils becoming smaller to accommodate this new light. Soon, she burst from the waters hold on her body, and slid up onto the rough surface of a rock, part of the formation that the other two mer people sat on. She, of course, didn't see them there, as she was off, dreaming about another world. Humming softly to herself, Kaie squeezed some water out of her now heavy burden of black hair, and allowed the mass of thin tendrils to fall over her shoulders, hiding her breasts. Red lips parted slightly to show a slight glance of white teeth, and her face angled upward toward the sun, pale skin flooded with the suns warm glow. She could feel her skin begin to dry off, looking very pale as a layer of white salt hardened on it. she flicked her tail slightly, causing a forced wave to rush out across the water, tiny droplets springing into the air, lighting up like tiny crystals in the light. With a start, Kaie looked over to the side, the presence of others suddenly dawning on her. So startled was she, that she lept into the air, and disappeared beneath the depths of the waves - safety. Once hidden from view, Kaie contemplated what she had seen. Soon she realized it was two mer-folk. one male, and one female. She couldn't remember the picture in detail, as the snapshot in her mind was blurry, but she knew that what she had seen was nothing that could harm her. And so, unwilling to give up her spot in the sun, the pale face, surrounded by dark hair, emerged again from the water, and after a couple moments, the mermaid slowly lifted her slim body from the water, and lowered it back onto the rock. She smiled over at the two mer-people, then stared contentedly at the horizon, eyes following the movement of a flock of sea birds, rising from the waters surface, and flying off into the distance. She wished she was with them.

She had been off somewhere, not there definatley. Silence ahd prevaled them and now she was letting her mind wander. She closed ehr eyes and leaned back on the unusually smooth rock and just rested there for a moment when she was startled by the wave and then the sounds of another jumping and diving back into the water. She sat up, staight as a board and loked for the one who had broken the silnce. Soon, her gave drifted to another mer-maid who was sitting on the rock beside them.
Smile drigfted over ehr features as she reaized this femme wouldn't mean hamr "Lo, I am Audnee" she introduced herself.

Kaie's mind was just beginning to leave reality for a while, when she was startled back into it suddenly by the voice of the other female mer-person. Kaie took a while to comprehend what the other mermaid had said, but when she did, all she offered was a polite nod, and a pretty smile. She then tossed out a single word: "Kaie". She was sure that they would realize that this was her name, not something she just randomly decided to say. For, Kaie was her name, and had always been.
The fin at the bottom of her thicker orange scaled tail was a paler peach shade, and fanned outward so it was about as wide as her shoulders. At the moment, this seemed the focus of her attention. She watched as the thin flap squirmed, causing waves to erupt and quiver across its surface. She lifted it out of the water completely, and shook it off, then plunged it back into the drink, stirring up the water - causing it to move in a circular motion. Almost absent mindedly, Kaie called a tiny stream of water from the whirl pool her tail created, and drew it up into the air. The tiny, twisting piece of salt water eagerly rose up toward her, and settled in a pool on her palm. A slight smile rested on her lips, but quickly faded away as realization dawned on her. It was considered very impolite to preform magics without reason in front of others. At least it was in her clan.
Quickly, Kaie released the handful of water, and watched it slip back in to join the rest of the ocean without much protest. She could feel a slight heated blush creep onto her cheeks, and ducked her head slightly to avoid the gaze of the others. Hoping that her antics had gone unnoticed, Kaie regained composure and then raised her head to focus again on the horizon.
Kaie's thoughts began to settle comfortably on the concept of her magic. It was fairly well developed - and usually in control. She wasn't one to attempt large magic. She stuck to basics, such as toying with small currents of water, and occasionally becoming invisible. She knew she was not meant to play with the magic, and she had been told countless times that it was not a toy. But - and these were her constant thoughts - why have something if you can't use it? an inward sigh rattled through Kaie's body, and her mind drifted off. Again, this stream of thought had been pointless, and had gotten her no where. And so, she folded it up and stuck it in a box in her mind, away where it could cause no more harm.

She smield "Tis nice to meet you Kaie" Indeed, she ahd known that the word she had uttered was the girl's name. She sat for a moment as things dwindled back to that awkward silence. She sighed and turned around, looking towards the water. Untill....
Untill she noticed water swirling towards the girl. The water was being controlled by the mer-lass named Kaie. A small smile crept over her face, eventually becoming a full blow smile as she watched the girl work her magic over the water. She saddened though to see it go back down, and the girl blush "Why did you quit? you're really good at that..." She encouraged.
She ahd tryed, several times of the past years to master the art, but never seemed to get past making the currents flow out of control, and then causing water spouts, which were not very good. She never ahd a teacher, and no one had ever taught her how to control the magic she ahd found sh e possesed, so she kept it dormant, forced it to lay still inside.

Kaie raised large copper eyes to meet those of Audnee. She smiled. It wasn't much of a smile - all she did was slightly raise the left corner of her lip, but it came out pleasantly enough. A sort of sad little smile. "yes, I suppose it is rather good, isn't it." her eyes sparkled briefly, and the tentative smile stretched more over her features. but, as quickly as her excitement grew, it deflated like a blowfish. "oh. but, I'm not meant to actually preform my magic." even with her saddened words, she was glad that Audnee wasn't offended by her show of magic. Perhaps her family clan was different from Kaie's. Or, from what Kaie's had been. She wondered only briefly how her family was fairing. Yes, she still called them family, even if she had been banished and stripped of her name. It was her love of magic that did this to her, and though she hated herself for it, she couldn't shake off this love. She felt that her magic was the only thing that she had left in this world. She was partly right, partly wrong. She also healed a deadly secret, that even she herself didn't realize the importance of.
Thinking back, Kaie could remember her previous life style. Her clan was an ancient one, one with ancient beliefs. Magic was something sacred. Something to possess, but not to strengthen. Secretly, Kaie believed that her people feared their magic, and so didn't use it. Maybe she was wrong. Whatever the reason, magic was only to be used in times of need. Otherwise, it was to be pushed back, and nearly forgotten. Just a fragment of memory, lying untouched in the back of existence. Kaie had been different that her people. Her magic was strong, but it listened to her. She had a way with her magic, a connection with it. The water bended at her will, the particles of her body ceased to exist when she wished to become invisible. She played with the water - rode on its currents. She drew it toward her and wrapped it around her shoulders like a blanket. It was this love that made her people frightened. It was this talent that made her banished and considered something no one should mingle with. Kaie was saddened, but new nothing else to do but to move on.

Audnee's smile turned to a slight frown "Why not?" she asked "If it's not to bold in me asking..." she added as an after thought. She smiled at Dagon and sat back, waiting for either of them to progress with the conversation. She ahd asked a question, and if it wasn't answered, then that was fine with her. If it was, then she could listen and maybe say ehr two peice, if called for.
